A bit about my background & experience…
I graduated from Staffordshire University in 2009 with a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Film Production Technology. After finishing university, I worked part-time as a freelance video editor and motion graphics artist for a few years, before moving into a full-time editing position in 2012 – while still continuing some freelance work.
I’ve now been working in the film & video industry for 10+ years, and have accumulated a huge amount of both practical and theoretical knowledge in that time.
Having completed hundreds of projects for a number of production companies, I have experience working under pressure and to tight deadlines – and I deal directly with clients on a daily basis.
Outside of work, I am a huge sports fan, an avid traveller and have a love for music. I enjoy attending music festivals and shows, and am also a gin & coffee lover! (Not at the same time though!)
My skills & the software I use.
Motion Graphics & Animation
I use After Effects to make creative lower thirds, slick logo stings and impressive mograph promos. Working with assets from designers and illustrators, I can also produce character-led pieces, whiteboard animations and explainer videos.
Colour & Sound
As a bit of an all-rounder, I am used to colour grading and correcting, and have a keen ear for sound design and music in videos.
Adobe Premiere Pro
I’ve been using Premiere since 2009 and know it inside-out. Adobe have really impressed me with the new features and updates they’ve added to it in the last few years.
Avid Media Composer
I’ve cut long and short-form videos on Avid and love using it for its great media management capabilities.
Adobe After Effects
I have advanced knowledge of After Effects as a motion graphics, animation and compositing tool. I’m also experienced with the Trapcode Suite as well as Video Copilot’s various plug-ins.
